Zentiva celebrates the 2024 Parc Awards

Initiated by Zentiva, The Parc (Pharmaceutical Applied Research Center ) provides world class academic education combined with practical hands-on industrial and business experience under the leadership of scientists, engineers, and managers both from academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

Every year, “The Parc Awards” are presented to researchers behind the best projects in applied research and pharmaceutical development. 
We are delighted to congratulate the 2024 winners for their best projects in the field of applied research and drug development.

In the Student Choice Award category, Suada Djukaj won with the project "Development of Artificial Mucus as a Predictive Model for Studying Drug Diffusion”.

In the Expert Choice Award category, Filip Zavrgel succeeded with his research on "Development of a Continuous Process for Drug Nanoformulation."

The Parc - Center for Applied Pharmaceutical Research was founded by Zentiva in collaboration with the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Charles University in Prague, and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Other members include the General University Hospital in Prague and Palacky University in Olomouc, which joined the center last year. It provides world-class postgraduate education with practical experience in industry and business under the guidance of experts from academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

Our goal is to accelerate innovation in drug research and development. The results of student research are often directly implemented into real products brought to market and help real patients.

The Parc currently brings together 33 students and 26 supervisors, including 13 from academia and 23 experts from Zentiva. Over the past year, 11 students have successfully defended their PhDs, 9 have completed The Parc program, and 8 new members have joined. Since its inception, the Center has achieved over 30 patents, more than 110 scientific publications, and numerous prestigious awards.
